Telcona AG was founded in 1987 by Christoph Müller, an electronic engineer. Having already made serval years of experience in international trade of electronic, he started in his own company to import Quartz crystal products from Asia, at that time mainly from Japan and Korea. Building up a customer base in the Swiss telecom industry, Telcona expanded into the larger markets of the neighbor countries Germany and France a few years later, by opening local sales offices there. Telcona expanded their clientele step by step from Telecom to Medical, Appliance, Computer, Industry and Automotive. Starting from Piezoelectric products only, Telcona added Electroacoustic-, Interconnection- and Optoelectronic-Products to its portfolio. In 2023 Telcona could celebrate its 35th birthday and a successful transfer to a new ownership by a Swiss company, active for the same long period in the market of printed circuit boards.
