In early September 2026, our team travelled to Dongguan, Shenzhen, Huizhou and Hong Kong to meet the manufacturers behind the products we deliver to our customers every day. We had many conversations that no video call can replace.

Why we go in person
Our customers trust us to recommend reliable technical solutions. That trust has to be built on something real. Walking through a production floor, seeing quality checks between process steps, and talking face to face with the people who design, build and test the parts gives us an understanding that datasheets alone cannot provide. It also helps us give engineers and buyers better answers, faster.

What we saw
Over the week, we visited production sites and headquarters of partners across our core product lines: crystals and oscillators, connectors and terminal blocks, batteries, LEDs, acoustic components, capacitors and PCB assembly.
We saw automated production lines, in-house mold making and tooling, inspection and testing centers, and new technologies that are being prepared for the European market. Just as valuable were the meetings themselves: open discussions about current projects, customer needs, market developments and how we can work better together.
In one plant we were able to follow the complete process flow of a supercapacitor with radial leads: electrode cutting, lead pin pressing and winding, vacuum drying and impregnation with electrolyte, sealing into the aluminum can, cleaning, sleeving, aging, electrical testing, final visual inspection and packing. What impressed us most was not the speed of the line, but the fact that an in-process quality checkpoint sits between every single step, each with its own defined control parameters. In the same facility we saw a fully automated line for a new capacitor technology that the manufacturer is now preparing for the European market.
At one of our connectors partners we found a tooling shop that most customers would not expect at a component supplier: EDM, CNC and wire cutting machines, mold flow simulation and a design team that produces around 100 plastic and 100 metal molds every year. Next to it, 130 turning machines, injection and stamping shops and automatic assembly lines for connectors, terminal blocks and wire harness. The laboratory holds 45 pieces of test equipment, from plugging force and temperature rise testers to glow wire, salt spray and terminal cross section analysis.

Our crystal and oscillator partner took us through a plant that has been modernized in recent years, with a showroom, a training room, largely automated manufacturing and its own reliability laboratory: temperature cycling, thermal shock, reflow simulation, X-ray, board flex, humidity, a vibration tester built specifically for automotive testing, and shock testing. We followed tuning fork production step by step and saw where the roadmap is heading, towards ever smaller packages, with the next generation already at the sample stage.

At a battery manufacturer we walked along automatic production lines, through the inspection centre and into battery performance testing. Their development direction is clear: curved and irregular shapes that fit into the housing instead of dictating it, and cells that keep delivering in the low temperature range.

We also saw LED production and discussed acoustic components and PCB assembly with partners at their headquarters.
Just as valuable were the meetings themselves: open discussions about current projects, customer needs, market developments and how we can work better together.

A few facts from our visits that surprised even us:
- One of our capacitor partners produces around 850 million capacitors every month, on a production area of about 95,000 m².
- One of our acoustic partners has been making acoustic components since 1976. Today it runs 7 factories with more than 100 automatic lines and offers over 4,500 different part numbers.
- Another partner produces around 55 million buzzers and 36 million batteries every month.
- One of our connector partners builds its own tooling: around 100 plastic and 100 metal molds a year, with 112 new molds in 2024 alone.
- At one of our battery partners, more than 60 of its 800+ employees work in research and development.
- Our crystal and oscillator partner runs a largely automated plant with its own laboratory, CNAS accredited since 2024.
